UPDATE ABOUT MEDICAL EMERGENCY

Survey of the Cosmos won’t be accepting orders until I can complete/refund all pending orders, and until I can be fully back to normal to work again. Unfortunately, due to my recent accident and the fact that I have to schedule a third and final reverse colostomy surgery which will put me back in bed, I don’t see myself capable of restarting production by myself until sometime in the summer, if everything goes as planned.

As a toy collector myself, I know how much it sucks to have to wait for a toy or to never get it. I hate to have made you wait this long, for that I sincerely apologize. I wish I could get back to make toys right away, but the doctors warned me that trying to work and lifting heavy things could prolong the time of recovery and even risk having a successful reverse colostomy surgery.

I have relocated to upstate New York now so that my family can help with my recovery process, There are quite a few orders for which the toys were already made but are still back in Texas where I have a friend helping me getting them ready to ship to you, it’s taking a little longer than expected so thank you for extended patience. I am also going through the process of taking a big loan to be able to refund the rest of your orders, so please bear with me as this might take me some additional time.

I am very thankful to those of you that have decided to simply donate the money you invested in purchasing my work without expecting anything in return in order to help me pay my medical bills, etc. This is a very kind and unexpected gesture; I really appreciate it. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this gift, which in fact, is helping me a lot. However, this is not something I expect from everyone. I don’t want to owe money to anyone, and I will not, so rest assured that your order will be shipped soon (if it was made), or your money will be refunded as soon as possible.

I do feel like I need to be more specific about the accident so I can protect you and other toy enthusiasts from the pain I’ve had to endure, from the trauma, and all the unexpected life changes that came with it. The name of the toy is ‘Big Bro’ by Wad Toys, It is made in the shape of a newborn human baby and is supposed to be life-size. On December 5th, it got stuck inside of me, and I had to be taken to the emergency room where they performed surgery to remove it by making a large incision in my belly. A few days later, they had to operate again to re-close my wound, and they said that time I almost didn’t make it. The toy did a lot of damage to the nerves that extend to my legs, so I have been learning how to walk again for the past 2 months. The progress has been slow, but I am getting there. I can walk without a walker now except for going up the stairs, and I’m very slow at it.

It’s not easy to share these details publicly but I’m doing it because I want it to be a warning.. Stay away from that toy, there is a growing list of guys that have been hurt by it. I asked the toymaker to stop making it but he has refused to, so it’s still out there, and it has the potential to kill you, just like it almost killed me.

While no one forced me to play with ‘Big Bro’ and while I suspected a potential risk, no toy collector should have to pay this high of a price for attempting to satisfy their curiosity and libido. The toy maker should take steps to make the toy safer either by reshaping it, resizing it or taking it off the market, specially after becoming aware that it has the potential to cause death.

Please know that I appreciate your support so much. Thank so much for choosing to collect my work. I am very proud of the large collection of designs that I have created and I plan to make a big come back (though this time I will plan to only sell toys after they are already made, rather than have you order them and wait for them  to be made), but we are still a bit far from that big come back, though I can’t hardly wait. This type of work is still my biggest passion and the plan of re-opening my store, making my toys available for everyone again is one of the things that currently helps me get out of bed,

Thanks again for your business, your support, your patience and understanding through this hard time.
